Study Smarter Not Harder – Study Skills PLC

Good study skills are essential for learning and succeeding in school. This PLC is designed to help students improve their learning effectiveness to “study smarter and not harder or longer.” Some topics will include: time management, concentration, note taking skills, textbook study methods, test taking strategies and others. Come to all sessions to improve your skills or come to just what you need. Participants will receive EEC training hours for each session attended.

Session 1: How to Improve Your Study Skills, 2 hours, Monday, 10/15/18, 6:30pm-8:30pm

Session 2: Notetaking, 1.5 hours, Monday, 11/19/18, 6:30pm-8:00pm

Session 3: Test Taking, 1.5 hours, Monday, 12/10/18, 6:30pm-8:00pm

Tech Goes Home

Tech Goes Home (TGH) teaches educators computer skills and how to utilize technology to help boost your business savvy. Participants also receive a free laptop after completion of the course!

✦ 15 hours of hands-on computer instruction with a local trainer
✦ Web-based curriculum and basic tutorials designed to help you address your business needs
✦ Relationship-building opportunities with community organization staff and other local micro businesses
✦ A free laptop to use during the class and take home upon completion of the course

Thursdays, 6:30pm-8:00pm starting Thursday, October 18, 2018
Free parking available and easy access to public transportation

Este PLC está diseñando para los educadores que ya han completado las 120 horas de desarrollo profesional del CDA. En este PLC daremos apoyo para poder organizar y revisar las normas de competencia y los recursos de tu portafolio profesional. Tambien tendremos una educadora invitada que recien completó su CDA para que nos comparta su experiencia y nos de sus consejos sobre el proceso.

Men in Early Education Professional Learning Community
Dec 5 @ 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Come to the first meeting of the Men in Early Education Professional Learning Community!

This planning session will lay the groundwork for EPS Region 6’s first Men’s PLC! Meet with other men working with young learners birth to 8, network, and discuss topics that would be helpful to cover at the next 4 Professional Learning Community meetings.

Refreshments and a light meal will be served.

Instructors: Clarence Little and Craig Simpson. These two educators have been in the field for over 50 years combined and have experience working in classrooms and supervising programs.
