Supporting Dual Language Learners (in English) .5 CEU
Children may enter programs where their native language is not spoken or which is not the primary language used in the program. This requires the child to not only adjust to the new setting but, to acclimate into a different social and linguistic situation. In this course, educators will learn the stages of English language acquisition and strategies to provide a supportive and responsive learning environment for Dual Language Learners and their families. Participants will receive .5 CEU credit hours.
Participants select one training topic for the entire day. Educators, administrators, and ECE program staff are welcome to participate in this professional development day. The cost of $15.00 per person, includes a box lunch and CEU or certificate fees and materials. Special prize drawings and opportunities to network with peers! Preference in enrollment will be given to educators who live or work in EEC Region 6. A Professional Qualifications Registry (PQR) number is required for registration. Email the EPS Region 6 Team at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
